Outside my Kitchen Window...

… these are some of the sights I see:
Turkey on the Compost Pile

Our Egg Flock - thinking I have treats

Mustard  - from seeds that were Blowing in the Wind

Still Life With Compost

Plums

Tree blooming 6 weeks early

Closer

Closer Yet

Even Closer

Alice and a New Girl - they look like twins but they're not. Alice is still top dog.

Solomon, our green eyed handsome boy

Meat Birds. They are the epitome of glutton and sloth

Flower seeds from last year that got into the compost

Five tomatoes

Can you say Meyer Lemon?

May Has Come Early

Our first Mother's Day at the farm was in 2011. This tree was in full bloom at that time. Fast forward to today and this tree in our backyard is in full bloom and almost ready to drop it's blossoms.

Why do I mention this? Spring has come early this year to our little slice of heaven. Which means summer is on it's way. And it will be a dry one, folks. There is talk of water rationing. The fire season has started 3 months early. It's not a pretty sight, our forecasted summer.

Be thrifty with your water use out there, people. Plant food, not lawns :-)

In the meantime, enjoy the flowers.
