Epic Fail
There are no signs of life. No peeping, no chirping, no cracks or pecking out of a shell. Nothing. I'm giving them until tonight. Chances are we will be doing egg autopsies. At least we'll be able to see if the eggs were fertilized.
I must say I am extremely disappointed. I don't mind taking credit for mistakes, but I can't believe I did everything so terribly wrong that I am responsible for this 100% fail. This IS my first time, but I have to wonder... Is James (named after James Dean) shooting blanks?
And then there is this little glimmer of light. A broody hen. With seven eggs under her. Check back in a few weeks to see if she stayed broody for 21 days... and maybe she'll have better success than I.
