Which Came First?

In our case, the chickens were first. But we don't want the chickens... we want their eggs.

Alice
It has been a long road for us to finally get eggs.

We had to learn how to care for chickens and keep them safe from predators. Remember this?

We had to get a coop big enough to hold a VERY small production flock.

And now we have eggs.

Beautiful, colorful, pastured eggs.

We have seven hens and eventually should get seven eggs a day. Right now we average three daily and sometimes, as on this day, we get five. But soon, seven. Ah, I love that number. Seven.

Eggs are for sale, $6.00 a dozen. That's $0.50 each. A bargain! Who wants a dozen?
