I Get By with a Little Help From My Friends

Garlic - we have over 750 plants!
I hurt my back a few weeks ago, shoveling compost of all things. But the little injury has had significant impact on what I can do during this very long healing process. It also came at a really bad time... we had starts that needed to get into the ground.

Funky purple broccoli. Supposedly the leaves can be used like kale!
Thankfully, a phone call or two resulted in a group of friends who do not want to see us fail. On a Sunday morning they arrived to plant broccoli, cauliflower, escarole, brussel sprouts, cabbage and garlic. Seven Cats Farm has a small (and weedy) winter crop!

Cauliflower
On this day, I am thankful for the crop that is in and the friends that made it happen.

Cabbage
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
